Spot cooling is often required for warehouses, factories, outdoor markets and many other applications. Even fans with misting rings can be operated without mist. But when it really gets hot, the evaporative cooling power of mist really cools it down fast. They can be operated with fan only, mist only, or mist and fan.
Misting works through the simple science of “flash cooling.” When water is forced through tiny nozzles at high pressure, the mist that sprays is fine enough to instantly evaporate. Evaporation actually requires heat, so heat from the surrounding air is consumed in the process. A cool-down of 35 degrees or more is possible, even without the fan. When the evaporation of mist is combined with the cooling power of wind, watch out . . . you might just need a light jacket when you turn on our spot cooling fans!
From small 3x3 units all the way up to our largest 48” fan, portable evaporative coolers offer another good cooling option. They are self contained units, using a fan and pad evaporative cooling system. Water is circulated from the tank and soaks into the pad, and a fan pushes air through the wet pad. Pushing air through water evaporates some of the water, and pushes a cool breeze out. We offer oscillating models that can cool up to 100 feet away, and 48 inch fans that can cool 500 people at a football game. The range is wide.
